Andrea Christian
Investigator
Ms. Christian has commendable experience from employment in the public and private sectors, including a brief period as an Attorney (not currently practicing). She has worked as a public servant for many years, most recently as a Senior Manager in Safety & Compliance at the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands. She is acutely aware of the importance of efficient management by entities who are responsible for implementing legal processes and procedures.
Andrea lived and studied in Ontario, Canada, Kingston, Jamaica and Southampton, England (UK), during those periods she obtained a BA in Economics (Brock University), Diploma in Education (UWI, Jamaica), LLB (Hons) Truman Bodden Law School and a Masters in Maritime Law (University of Southampton).
In 2022, she supplemented her qualifications with professional development courses that included a Certificate as an Internal Auditor from BSI (UK) and a Diploma in Maritime Leadership and Management (Kent College, UK).
Andrea has been an advocate for legal, fair and impartial treatment of students, families, seafarers on Cayman Islands registered vessels, residents and citizens. As such, she welcomes the opportunity to continue serving her community as an Investigator in the Office of the Ombudsman.
