Mrs. Shamique Frederick serves as Assistant Ombudsman for the Complaints Division and has been a dedicated member of the Office of the Ombudsman since 2017. She brings over eight years of experience in Information Rights, having conducted complex investigations under the Freedom of Information Act and the Data Protection Act, and has also contributed to the strategic and operational functions of the office.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) from the University of Liverpool and a degree in Literacy Studies from the University College of the Cayman Islands. Mrs. Frederick is a qualified civil and commercial mediator and a TCM Accredited Investigator, trained in advanced investigative techniques including the PEACE interview model. She also holds Practitioner Certificates in Freedom of Information (PC.foi) and Data Protection (PC.dp), and has strengthened her leadership skills through training with the Institute of Leadership Management (ILM).

In her current role, Mrs. Frederick is responsible for investigating complaints of government maladministration, whistleblower disclosures across both public and private sectors, and public complaints concerning police misconduct. She approaches each matter with fairness, independence, and a strong commitment to the principles of due process.
